"The Quest for Cabernet"
by Jerry Daniele
A modern day David and Goliath story of two wineries in Italy. Grassio, a small regional winery in Tuscany develops a formula for an extraordinary Cabernet. Vitalia, the largest winery in Salerno forms a partnership with Grassio in exchange for the rights to the formula. They agree to pay a commission to Grassio for every bottle sold, yet they have no intentions of honoring the agreement.

Strange explosions rock some of the Vitalia family holdings. They aren’t related to the formula, or are they? Is it even possible that a small winery in Tuscany is capable of disrupting one of the largest wineries in all of Italy, over a formula? Probably not, but then again Grassio is owned by the Mafia in the United States.

About the author
Hello and welcome to our web site announcing my first book going to press! Thank you for visiting our site.
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and my book:
The Quest of Cabernet
Listening to stories, especially in an Italian family, is loud and more often than not, entertaining. At an early age I started to understand that volume wins more arguments than logic. Size helps too. If you're small and have great logic, you will continually lose to someone bigger and louder. It's just an Italian fact of life, until you get older and can bullshit better.
I have always been fascinated by what makes people buy things. It's stories. All of our lives are stories. Some better, some worse, some average and some extraordinary. Surprisingly to some, its is one of the benefits and joys of selling. Good salespeople are good storytellers. After selling for way to many years, I figured it was time to write a novel about things I have thought about while stuck in traffic, travelling the country on sales calls, waiting on hold, and playing a par-3 golf course every Wednesday for almost a year with one of the true "Godfathers" of wine growers. He possessed all the vibrato of a "Mafia Don," yet was discrete and not the least bit braggadocios. I found myself trying to crawl into his mentality to try and understand what it would be like to introduce a world-class Cabernet to the world. He never taught me anything about wine. I didn't ask, but he did hit and incredible "banana ball".

PRESS RELEASE October 27, 2018:
Troubled Relationships Between Wineries Leads to Deep Truths in Debut Novel
Jerry Daniele weaves a fascinating story about business and greed.
MAITLAND, FL—Jerry Daniele’s novel, The Quest for Cabernet ($20.99, paperback, 9781545635490; $35.99, dust jacket, 9781545635506; $9.99, e-book, 9781545635513), is now available for purchase.
The Quest for Cabernet focuses on a small winery in Tuscany which develops a formula for an extraordinary Cabernet. When a large winery in Salerno forms a partnership for the rights to the formula, they renege on commissions, not knowing that the Tuscan winery is owned by a Mafia family. This novel is a modern-day David & Goliath story, touching on the topics of less-than-honest business practices, grudges, greed, and perceptions held over from World War I.
Jerry Daniele is a highly independent product of an Italian family. As the first son, he was exposed to multiple generations of the “family business” and “old country” logic. He is highly competitive and is a recipient of an “Outstanding Senior Athlete” award. The Quest for Cabernet is Daniele’s first published novel.
